My family has jokingly adorned me Donna Dolittle, as they know my passion and love for animals is so close to my heart.  I have always loved animals and I knew I wanted to cultivate that into something I could do and share with others, which is why I started Home Sweet Home Pet Sitting in 1996.

 

Before I started my pet sitting business I was a professional dog groomer for 12 years, which I continued doing in the early years of starting Home Sweet Home.  After some time, I stopped grooming so I could focus all of my attention on my growing business.

 

I have always been a pet owner myself and my house will always be filled with four-legged friends. Some we got as brand new puppies and kittens, while others came to our house for a long weekend as a rescue, and our home became theirs.  My husband and I have done obedience training with many of our dogs. We were also involved in dog showing for years, where we competed and titled two of our Dobermans. We now own three Great Danes and continue to take them to weekly obedience training classes. I’ve always been fascinated by how different breeds and temperaments respond to obedience training.  There is always something new to learn and I enjoy the challenge.

Each and every animal that comes into my life holds a special place in my heart and I can’t imagine my life without any of them.  I’m excited to see what the next chapter holds.
